I feel like a slacker with only 281K on my '00 FRC. OTOH, I've put almost 10K on our "new" C7 since we bought her on 3/31 this year.

Have a good one,
Mike

Yes, Original engine. No mods, change the oil when it tells me to, I take it to 0% oil life before I change it with Mobile 1. Have replaced water pump, oil pan gasket, AC compressor, driver seat cover, and a few other things. All of this after I banged up the front and had fenders, hood, and bumper replaced at 149,700mi.

Quick thread hijack: how did you change out the oil pan gasket? I've been working on drying up oil leaks: front main seal, intake manifold gasket, valve cover gaskets, rear main seal (about 100K ago when I changed out the clutch). Leaks are a lot better, but still leaking a bit. That leaves the oil pan gasket.

The job looks fairly daunting: support the engine, disconnect the steering rack, lower the front suspension, etc. Am I missing something that makes it easier?

TIA, and have a good one,
Mike

Your list sounds about right, I let my local chevy dealer change it, and I think that is exactly what he did.

I also meant to ask, what prompted you to get yours changed? I'd hate to go to this effort while missing an easy and common leaker.

Have a good one,
Mike

I was up to 360,000 miles and was tired of the leaking, I had the oil pan gasket, the outer tie rod ends, and r/s axel cover seal and gasket replaced at the same time. Fortunately I have a good corvette dealer close to work.

Default Thanks for the all the shoot outs....

I haven't had too much to say since my Vette is still laid out in my friends shop. Just haven't gotten back to working on it. Too many opts can be a bad thing, I think I've somewhat made up my mind what to do.

I stopped at around 514,000+ miles, so I guess you can say I'm out the count for most miles. Everything appears to have held up other than a lifter going & somewhat being helped toward failing(shady mech). Compression on a couple of cylinders had gotten low than stock and of course oil pressure was lower, but wasn't using any extra oil. I was still putting down over 400+ hp. Goal is to be back on the road later this year, maybe worse is first part of next.
