Difference in StraightLine Performance Between A4 and MN6...
Before you even answer this thread I have some requests so that I don't have to wade through the :bs . The question I have is very specific. I would like for those who respond to back their answer up with fact and not opinion. I have just about resigned myself to the fact that I have to keep my A4. Luckily it has Z-51 and 3.15 rear. The question is: How my car would fair against an equally equiped car with a MN6?
I just want to know that if they would run around even or not. I hope I have not opened pandora's box here. Oh...BTW the distance would be 1/4 mile or from Traffic light to Traffic light etc... :D

If both you and an M6 owner hook up pefrectly he will cream you. Most of the time the M6 guys spin too much and you get the jump, but he WILL eventually catch up and pass you unless he cant' drive but again all things being equal.
Your only option if to get a good torque converter, then you are the one leaving him HARD off the line if you dont spin, BUT from a roll he will still get you and I wouldnt even bother on the freeway. If you race in the 1/4mile and you have good tires then you should be able to ET better than him simply because of your MUCH better 60' times. But on the street things change quickly. I have had 3 different converters in my car and although I used to run 12.50's at the track, my buddy in an LT1 M6 that runs 13.80's could still beat me on the freeway. :(
Don't mind the difference from Corvette to F-body, its the same whether some people will admit it or not, the A4 vs. M6 battle nets the same results. :)
Re: Difference in StraightLine Performance Between A4 and MN6... (LowFlight)
In the 1/4 the M6 usually wins. It can launch at 3000 rpm and you can only launch at whatever the stock torque converter is (1800?). The M6 also has the 3.4x rear vs. your 3.15. Now if you have a 3000 stall TC and 3.42 of your own, then the A4 will win.

LOL, hell I have a 4400 stall and 3.73s and I still have trouble with M6 cars. And if they are equal in mods I am toast. But they cant touch me in the 1/4 and they envy my 1.5 60's ;)
