Default Good head and cam package to make around 500hp at the engine.

I was wanting to rebuild the top end of my LS1 in my 2000 vette and i was wanting to put out 500hp at the engine and I was wondering what would be a good brand and what heads and cam and everything i should use. I saw the trick flow kit and dont want to go with it really so what other options are out there? I already have a LS6 intake and can the stock automatic transmission handle that horsepower??

Call one of the supporting vendors/tuners on the left and talk to them.

I put down around 400rwhp with a 4k converter unlocked on the dyno with a TSP heads cam package. I went with a mild setup, but with a bigger cam the car would have made more peak power. I went with the Torquer 2 and the stg 2.5, 5.3 heads. Full weight, with 2.73 gears the car ran 11.52 @ 117. Sometimes dyno numbers are just numbers, you need a combo to make good power under the curve. What do you want a dyno queen, or a quick street car? Don't get to wraped up in dyno #'s. ALso don't forget about the torque converter, big cam = big converter.

I would get a good set of 243 heads with a custom cam in the 228-230/.600 range.

With AR 205'a and a Comp 228/332 my car put down 430 to the rear wheels-car all ready had headers and a full dual 3" exhaust system. A good set of heads and a fairly mild cam will give you the numbers you want.
