I don't know about motor noise but I've definitely got a whistle sound with mine. Only happens at part throttle so I'm pretty sure it's the TB blade. Its loud enough for me to hear when driving down the road with the window down. Might try smoothing the edge of the blade sometime to see if it helps (and no I'm not talking about reducing the OD of the blade - don't want to cause a high idle).

I haven't noticed my engine getting louder after the install. My car is already pretty loud as it is and would be hard to tell with the hood closed. I had the hood open while it was being tuned and didn't hear anything abnormal. I have a centerforce clutch that makes a little noise and possibly some valve spring noise. I have heard a few people complain there dual valve springs are noisy so I'm asuming that is the only thing I am hearing.

Not really louder, but you can hear the motor internals better, the LS6 muffled it a bit more. Just my observation. As for the whistle, I have that a bit too but maybe people will think I am FI

Are you discussing a 78 mm FAST??

I have a hunch thats the case

If so I have the cure for your whistling issues which is highly annoying btw....LOL

Actually it's a 90. I ported the runners a little bit (not real aggressive - just enough for a smooth transition - at most 4" up from the head). I don't think it's coming from there. I also ported the LS2 TB quite a bit. Didn't touch the blade or shaft though. I also put on a catch can at the same time but I don't think any of the fittings are leaking. The whistle stops with the TB blade shut or with it open past a certain amount so I'm pretty sure it's coming from the TB but I could be wrong.

Sounds like the way you shaped a part of the TB housing may be your problem then. You may have a lip near the blades transition exit away from the TB housing (where it starts to open away from the body of the TB).

Look for any sharp edges that could create a whistle....I have never had any whistling issues with any of the 90mm stuff.

Only the FAST 78 due to a sharp edge in the entrance of the manifold directly behind the TB as shown here (this pic shows the problem area after I radiused it with a grinder to eliminate the whistle completely). It was an extremely sharp 90' corner as delivered from FAST but this issue isnt applicable to any of the larger FAST intakes....only the 78mm version.

I think I have the same whistle you guys are talking about with my Fast 90 and ported ls2 throttle body. I only notice it from 1000 rpm up to 2000 rpm and its only at part throttle and deselleration. Mine is pretty loud though from 1000 rpm up to 1600 rpm. I was thinking it was maybe some thing to do with the callaway honker intake.

I am running the Honker as well but don't remember it with the LS6 intake. Mine is not too noticable but it is there in the same RPM range and when decelerating. Most time the top is down and I can't hear it though.

This is the first vette I have had with a fast 90 intake on it. I ran the fast 92/92 on my 2002 ss camaro and didn't have any whistle noise like this. At first I thought Damn I got a vacume leak but the car idles and runs too good and it only does it at 1000-2000 rpm.

My whistle can't be overly loud as I can't hear it with the top down, only when it is up and windows closed.
