Default M6 or M12 trans

Could anyone give me the differences between a M6 and a M12 transmission. Am considering going to a M12 from a M6. I use the car for drag racing 2000 FRC.

Here are the difference between the 2 transmissions.

MM6
The input shaft gear (also 4th gear) has 31 tooth and turns 36 tooth countershaft gear for .86 reduction.

Chevrolet Corvette C5 NON Z06
2.66:1 1.78:1 1.30:1 1.00:1 0.74:1 0.50:1

M12
The input shaft gear has 29 tooth and turns 38 tooth countershaft gear for .76 reduction.

Chevrolet Corvette C5 Z06
2.97:1 2.07:1 1.43:1 1.00:1 0.84:1 0.57:1

Both transmissions have the same 5-6 cluster gear and drive gears and the difference in overdrive is due to the different reduction from the input/cluster gear ratios.

IMHO, the best set up for drag racing is using MM6 with 3.90 gears. This is same as the M12 with 3.42 except for 4th (4th is 1 to 1 but drives 3.42 or 3.90).
