Default Exide Orbital Batteries As Good As Optima and Delco AGMs?

I've got a chance to get an outstanding price on a new Orbital glass mat battery. Are they on a par with the Optima and Delco AGM? If not, why not? Thanks!

Ed-
From what I understand, Exide invented the technology in the Orbital and Optima batteries, and Optima bought the right to make batteries based on this technology. Ergo, the Orbital and Optima batteries are pretty much the same. I would go for it, if I were you.

Exide (formerly known as Willard-Exide) has been manufacturing batteries for a long, long time. Although I personally have not used their Orbital series, I would tend to feel comfortable with their products. Go for it! :smash: Give us some feedback on how you like it, O.K.?

I have one in my 99. Bought it at a friend's NAPA store. Good price and no problems!

yes.

Exide invented it, sold licensed it to Optima, saw how much money they were making and then decided to make it themselves. So Exide Orbital and Optimas are the same thing. I run Exide because I found them cheaper at NAPA.

I believe Exide makes the "Die-Hard", commonly referred to as "rent-a-battey." Maybe they have cleaned up their quality problems from the late 70's/early 80's. For convenience I'd like to buy either an Optima or Orbital from Auto Zone or Advance Auto because there are many stores around the country and they are opne on Sunday. :smash:

Thanks to everyone for the info. I bought the Orbital and installed it. I'm glad I don't have to concern myself about a potentially leaking battery anymore...it feels good.
