Default GM Ls2 Throttle Body

Hello Corvette Forum!
I'm new here and i've got a little problem that I might think some one of you might be able to help me solve.
I've got a C5 -03 with a F.A.S.T. Intake Manifold (Wilson[?]) and the throttle body I had installed before had a circumference of 92mm.
Now, what is the difference of a 'fly-by-wire' and a cable-driven one, and where can I find a 'fly-by-wire' throttle body with a cicumference of 92mm...? (Cause the 'fly-by-wire' is the one that a workshop tells me i need, because of my engine type being a 'fly-by-wire') This may sound retarded but I've no idea of what I am actually speaking on about now, all I want is that my vette will be up'n'runnin this summer. So all I need is a new throttle body with a cicumference of 92 mm that works with my F.A.S.T. Wilson intake manifold..........

The GM LS2 throttle body will work fine.

You will need a conversion harness (approx $50)to connect it to your factory wiring.

Heres a link to one of our CF vendors that sells a plug and play 92mm TB, Most C5s come fly by wire, it means that there is no cable going from your gas pedal to your throttle body that opens it when you push down. Instead, there is a sensor on your pedal that detects how far you push, and then sends a signal through a wire to your TB telling it to open in the amount youve signaled via the pedal. F-bodies and GTOs have the old cable setup instead.

Problem numbah dos; I'm Swedish and will have to ship over here. Any other vendor/salesman that got it. I'd like to have the F.A.S.T. TB but if that dosen't work i'll have to take an original one or of any other brand. As long as I can get it shipped to Sweden.

Scoggins Dickey also handles DBW Nick Williams 92mm throttle bodies.

Can anyone help me find a throttle body that is of a 'fly-by-wire' construction that works with my FAST 92 mm intake manifold. With all the stuff included. Of all the different TBs I've found there have not been any info whether it is a cable driven or a FBW construction of it. So if anyone could be so nice and try finding me a one that works with my setup I'd be very thankful.

Santrik

- What other modifications does you engine have??

- What are your performance goals??

You can purchase a PORTED LS2 Corvette TB. Porting significantly improves throttle response and helps it flow better. You’re not going to gain anything with an aftermarket TB. An LS2 TB Ported or un-ported will work excellent.

If you just want a non ported TB, there very easy to get and install in a few minutes.

Any TB that you install along with the FAST 90, will most likely need PCM TUNING to make it run correctly!

If you don’t get it tuned, you may have some idle issues, part throttle issues and flat spots during acceleration..

Yes you will need the conversion harness.. Its a simple harness that converts the TWO connectors on the LS1 engine into ONE for the LS2 TB. I got mine from CASPER

I will add some pictures later tonight...

Do you have access to tuning software or professional tuners up there in the Swedish TUNDRA??

You may want to "relocate" the Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor (MAP) to the front of the manifold. It makes life easier.. Its also an easy conversion and works very well.

Will an LS2 TB with the harness work on a stock LS6 intake manifold? Or for the cost maybe a ported stock TB from my LS1 with an LS6 intake manifold would be better "bang for the buck"?

No. The bolt pattern is different, and the opening is too large. You need a modified LS6 or FAST manifold to used a LS2 TB.

To OP..agree with Bill. You can't do much better than a LS2 TB, and they're cheap if you check around. Of course they will ship to Sweden; it's not the moon.

I'm not very good with engines, but I must ask, what does ported mean? Is it that you enlagre the hole or whut?

I'll go for a LS2 TB in that case.

The C6 Throttle Body opening has a ridge in the opening (Front and back) to help direct the air at minimal throttle openings. When you port the TB, the opening/s are contoured (that ridge removed and the opening smoothed) to improve air flow at all throttle openings.

The total TB opening / throttle blade diameter is NOT altered.
