I've only driven about a thousand miles since replacing the shocks, but I haven't had any issues (this also includes driving in the rain). I zip tied the sensor and wire in a few places to make sure it wouldn't move.

I don't have any 'good' pics of where I placed the wire, but hopefully these will give you an idea.

Ok when I get caught up I'll make the switch also. Do you happen to have the part numbers of the C6 Shocks?

I don't believe there was a specific part number, but these are what I ordered - Corvette Shocks - GM 2006 C6Z06 (Set of 4) : 1997-2013 C5 & C6.

Default Is that REALLY oil?

Before letting your friendly GM dealer replace your electromagnetic shocks check to see if there is actually oil leaking from the shock. These shocks seem to collect moisture , especially when the car sits for a while here in Canada, and the dust sticks to it making the shock look like it is leaking. I expect the dealers have sold many sets (approx. $5000-$6000.) thinking they were leaking, when all they really needed was to have the dust cleaned off them. The 2003 Anniversary Edition in particular rarely needs these electromagnetic shocks replaced unless they have been flogged hard. Some go 200,000 miles if used moderately.

I am riding on Z06 shocks. My F45 were squeaking like a log wagon. I was tired of noise and clunking. I made up the bypass with parts from radio shack. Cost $2.00 or close. Toughest part was installing the bypass adaptors. They were heat shrunk covered, wrapped in 3M electrical tape and secured so they could "take it" The first two were on the front and with just that a major change in stability. Then the rears. Now all 4 completed and drives great and clearly nicer ride. The F45 from 99 compared to new design z06 just doesn't seem to measure up. So far speeds that depty dawg might frown on to just test the shocks no codes and all is well. I kept the old shocks perhaps some rebuild service will start rebuilding later and I 'may' consider rebuild shocks but for now the Z06 are great and way less $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

How do you know if the mag shocks are bad, how long do they last on a daily driver?
No racing just normal driving for a senior citizen. 90,000 miles.

My Mag shocks squeaked like a log wagon when I ran over a small bump as slow speed. There was also a clunk on some bumps and a hard jar in pot holes. When new it road much better. Squeaking is common for worn out bushings inside the shock.

My car has 110,000 on it and it has had 2 sets of F45 shocks on it and finally conventional design z06.

I had a bunch of H error codes at first concerning the shocks, but I cleared them, nothing came back on for a few days now. Do you think its safe to say I can just take this part of the shocks off and connect it to the wiring harness after I replace the MR shocks with Z06 shocks?

I have a 2003 50th AE and if you drive moderately slow over a speed bump changing between Sport and Cruise you will most definitely be able to feel the difference. In Cruise mode the car will bounce more off the speed bump. In Sport mode it will go over the bump and be firm on the rebound. Also, no clunking or squeaks I would assume.

I have 90,000 miles on mine and they seem to work great. I do prefer to leave them on Sport mode because I don't like the bouncy ride versus the firmer ride of the Sport mode.

You could have bought all four at half that price on line ($2300)

My 03 AE had 85K miles on the original shocks and this was after several years of autocrossing and my car being used as a daily driver. I might have been able to do a non-MSRC shock but no one in Tucson does the programming to have the shocks deleted from the PCM. I am just posting this for all who are about to or are considering replacing the shocks and experience the sticker shock (no PUN intended). Oh, BTW, the rear shocks have different part numbers and the fronts have the same. Not sure why this is, but just an FYI.
Good God, Am I glad I just have the standard shocks, I wonder what they cost when it comes that time. I have 64,000 and it rides way better than my 2014 Sonata Limited does and I put new Michelins on it within 2,000 miles but it still isn't near as comfortable as the 2003 Vette with Michelins on it too with 64000 with the original shocks, not driven hard though.

I too had oil leaks out of the front magnetic shocks on my 03 anniversary. Like most owners here, I simply refused to spend the big bucks for factory replacements. My solution was to get the BCM reprogramed and I purchased 4 ultimate Gabriel shocks from Autozone for 50 bucks each. Sold the good rear take offs on Ebay for 200 each. I wound up with 200 to the good except for the dealer reprogram charge. Its been a couple of months and I am very happy with the ride quality and road feel.

Default Wow new f55 on rears. What a difference.

Well I had a rough ride. Hardly enough there were still shock stuffers on the front but not on the rear. Turns out the fronts are in great shape like new. How interesting. The rears however were totally shot and leaking. Put new rears in purchased on eBay has ACDelco manufactured by GM original Factory parts at about half the price from what the Steeler does charge. Cost me $300 to have them installed. Wow what a difference. Now this is how it should feel.

for info car has done 80000 miles and sadly hit a few speed bumps and uneven UK roads.
