Default Need help on power steering

My power steering are "heavy" compare to other cars i have tried. The other cars i have tried have a very "light" steering compare to mine.
Are there more than one type of power steering pumps that will fit the car. 1997 C5..
Any suggestions to solve the problem.

Regards
Niels

There is a magnasteer connector on the rack. it interfaces with the PCM and ABS and uses an ELECRTOMAGNET to boost pump pressure at low speeds and less pressure at high speeds. You should use the DIC and read your DTCs to see if the PCM or ABS DTC and the Rack Magnasteer are functioning properly.
If its not, it will set a PCM DTC.

Check out this post. Its a good read for your issue:

Look at the rack Magna steer connector and wiring and make sure its in good shape, wires intact and it not damaged.
