After unloading my project and driving it around the driveway, I have a Service Active Handling message. Code is C1282 Yaw Rate Sensor Bias Circuit Malfunction. Can someone tell me what that means in bodyman language? Would the front end being knocked around cause this. I know the alignment is wacked out. BTW, It's a 99 with the Selective ride option.
Anyone at least know where this sensor is located? A vendor sent a Pm offering a used one...Thank you BTW. It seems to be some sort of inertia sensor so I suppose the impact may have damaged it??
Thanks. I did find the DIC code reading info with a search. Copied and saved. There were some history codes but the 1282 was the only current one. I do intend to get the manuals for it.
From what I have been reading, the alignment has an effect on the whole system. It definitely is out of alignment. So I think I'll wait until all the damage is repaired and the alignment set correctly before I start buying parts I may or may not need.
I went and reread all the codes. The history ones I mentioned were nothing with the ABS/Handling system. L&R door control modules, comunication errors with the RFA ect. Only one with the TCS is the 1282 and it's flaged H&C.
This car sat for months and the battery was stone dead. I suspect that accounts for a lot of the history errors. It has a Diehard and it's fully charged now.
Diagnostic Aids
It is very important to check the vehicle for proper alignment. The car should not pull in either direction while driving straight on a flat surface.
