Default Is a ported Fast 92 & ported LS2 TB worth it in my case ?

Guys:

Do you think its worth the $$ getting a ported Fast 92 & and Ported LS2 Throttle Body ? This is for my 2004 Z06.

It might add 10-15 rwhp ? I'm not sure what it would do to my torque... ?

PS... I'm not putting on a Fast 102 that will not fit the C5 out of the box.

Real word experience is appreciated...

Cost of Fast 92...
Cost to Port it...
Cost of LS2 TB...
Cost to Port it...
Cost of Wiring harness for the LS2 TB...
Cost to install it all...
Cost to tune it...

I have the following Mods which gave me 448rwhp / 432 rwtq
I'm still running my stock LS6 intake (un-ported).
Vararam B2 w/Green Filter
Airbridge & Smooth Tube
Shanner Polished & Ported Throttle Body
AFR 205 Heads Milled to 59cc for >11.1 comp ratio
Comp 921 Dual Valve Springs
Comp R Valve Lifters
Hardened Steel Pushrods
Titanium Retainers
ASP Under Drive Pulley
160 Degree Thermostat
LG's G5X1-E Cam on 114 LSA (intake/exhaust 230ish, Lift 590ish on 114LSA)
SVO 30# Fuel Injectors
LG Pro Long Tube Headers With Cats
GHL Bullet Cat Back Exhaust

FWIW My FAST 102 fit like a glove. I had to remove the plastic screw in the center but thats it.

I say get a 102 test fit it and if it works send it out for porting!

If not return it.

My car made 440/400 with a vararam, mamofied Fast 92, mamofied LS2 tb, LG G5X3 kit, LG catless pro's, UD pulley and a tune. The highest #'s a H/C/I 346 has put down on that dyno is 456/414. So I'm a believer in Tony Mamo's work and LG's cams. I think a well ported Fast setup would be icing on the cake in your car.

I bought my Fast 92/90 setup when the 92's 1st came out so you could probably get it a bit cheaper now. I don't have the receipts in front of me but I'm going to est. 1800 for the intake, tb, and pigtail including the porting/ polishing work done by Tony. I installed the stuff myself and ran untuned until after my cam install so I can't comment on intake install /tuning prices accurately.

stay away from the LS2, they aren't that great. The three piece design is junk.

You have to shim the engine or frame or something like that to get the Fast 102 to work right ? So many people are posting issues with it.

How did yours fit right ? I'm not adding shims to lift the front of my car to make it work...

Ever see yourself getting engine mounts?

And I'd speak more with Mario if all he had to do was remove that screw. IMO at least a FAST whether it be a 90/92/102(preferrably 102)

Btw there's some ported LS2 TB's on ls1tech for sale

Dang, if it put you above 470 would that be enough incentive to shim the cradle?

I understand where your coming from though. Either way, a FAST will do you nothing but good

It happens lol. Even up above you one guy dynoed a gain of 28rwhp.

I'd say at least 17rwhp. But you have a lotttt done. So I'd think you have more potential

Really ?

Are you saying that the more mods I already have on the car..... the bigger boost the Fast will give me ? As much as 20rwhp ?

I'm still only considering the Fast 92. No shim for me..

What does the torque usually do with these intakes ?

Thanks !

Are your heads milled like mine by any chance ? Mine are milled to 59cc. It might lower the intake a little ?

question, are you still running the stock clutch? I have close to the same mods and I still have my stock clutch and it's borderline needing a upgrade.

It makes more of a pronounced effect. Hence why ppl suggest not to buy just a FAST if your not going to do heads and cam. Because you'll get more potential out of the FAST if you do.

Btw that thread you posted heres a member with it

So it's possible

Idk if your on ls1 tech, but there will be a lottt of reviews on the intake there too.

The more air at lower RPMs produced more low end torque or OFF the Line or Out of Corners.

or one of the factors that helps increase low end torque.

Thanks guys... I got some more research to do on here...

I replaced my stock clutch with a Monster Stage 2 with light weight flywheel. My stock clutch was having the "sticky" pedal issue that the Ranger method just could not cure after years of keeping the clutch fluid crystal clear.

I'm loving it honestly. Pulls harder out of the turns etc. I can feel the lighter drivetrain.

Review I posted here...

You'd definitely be surprised....

The LS6 intake is a HUGE bottleneck at your power level, especially witha set of aftermarket heads. As stated, full gain that everyone talks about from the FAST comes from a more modified motor, such as what you're working with. I would say realistically, 15-20WHP is easily attainable.

Bottom line: It's worth it!
