Mystery empty harness near radiator shroud (after Vararam install)
Did a couple searches and didn’t find anything on this, what the heck is this empty harness, passenger side top of radiator shroud? I searched around and could not find any empty males. 2000 FRC no fog lamps.
New mechanic who goofed other stuff on the install, could’ve done it myself but didn’t have the time or desire. Any ideas?

Is your car running fine with all accessories working right now?
The only blue-tabbed plug I see in my photos on my 99 is the one that plugs into the motor for the throttle body. The tabs don’t look exactly the same, but the color and area match. That can’t be yours if your car is running fine.
The front of my engine is torn down right now in my shop. I will look when I get home.

I’m thinking hood light as well, is it common for a 2000 FRC to not come with one from the factory? No wires underneath the headliner. No light.
thanks for everybody’s input!

It's the light. I just installed an after dark tow hook (while I had the radiator out) and had to re plug the fog light, horn, hood light, and temp sensor. All kinda similar two pin in the same area, tho the sensor is a female haha.

My '99 FRC had the optional RPO code TR9. Can't recall if my brothers did or not. TR9 is for courtesy lamps (under hood light, visor lights, trunk lights). If you don't have one you dont have the others. It was a package option if memory serves. Many FRC's came without.

The under hood light is relatively worthless and the vanity mirror lights are only good if you're eating broccoli when you're driving to pickup a date. Which you should be more concern with your flatulence than your teeth.
I prefer the visor delete which for a tall driver is a considerable improvement in front windshield visibility once they are out.

Post script...all the wiring for the courtesy lamp package is pre-wired in the car. If you ever want to add the under hood light, trunk lights or new visors with lights it's all plug and play (you'll need to trim the hole out under the hood for sure and possibly the trunk). EBay and FB Market could be your friend if you want to do it on the cheap.

Nah, a few less things to maintain that aren't worth much value. The trunk light is the only one of any true value in my opinion. I hate losing **** to a dark trunk.

The FRC was brought out as a "lower cost" Corvette, in other words it was the "base model" so it was normal for them to not come with a bunch of options. They didn't sell well and then the engineers decided since it was stiffer to use that body to make the Z06. And that is how GM took the cheapest, least sold C5 and made it more expensive and desirable. Pretty crafty if you ask me.
