Default Blackwing Installation 1999

I just received my Blackwing yesterday. I have looked at some of the instructions posted on the Forum. All I received in the Blackwing box was the Blackwing itself. No extra sleeve of any type. Should there have been a sleeve? There is a rubber sleeve and hose clamp on the wing. Anyone have any pics of a 99 installation?

The late models need the big coupler. They charge extra for it. Everything hooks up for your 99. Take everything off and put together as a unit. It took me about a hour on my car. Could do another one in thirty minutes, easy. The hard part is getting the plastic air tube across the radiator support to line up with the plastic studs. Good luck!!! :seeya

Thank you all very much. Feel a lotter better now. I was going to put the Blackwing on today but I looked in the garage and Mrs. Torch has her Vette out and off to work with it. Guess I will go fishing instead. Thanks again.

When I received the Blackwing for installation on my 99 Hardtop there was a rubber sleeve included with the filter. I think also there was a hose clamp included as well. Certainly there was a adapter sleeve and I used it.

After my first reply I thought I better double check my installation. I was right. The filter included a rubber sleeve/adapter along with a hose clamp. This is needed to attach the filter to the mass air flow sensor. It was attached to the filter and without it I don't know how you would do the installation.
