Oil pressure reads 130 PSI and guage is pegged at 80
My change oil soon has been there for about a week now and when I go through the menu on the dash is today sid I have 2% oil life. The guage is pegged at 80 psi and the digital menu for oil pressure reads 130 PSI at idle warm. SO has anyone seen this?

That was sarcasm. Search oil pressure sensor for several ways to change it. Must be hundreds of posts with the same problem.

Here's a link to the method involving removing the intake manifold.

Jumpin Jimminy a gold member since 2009 and asked the question. Do the so called senior members actually read the forum?
No this isn't sarcasm, it's reality, come on guys, I know as we get older the Oldtimers disease kicks in. There is at least one post a week, my oil gauge is pegged and the temp is off the roof?
Lets do some reading sometimes, everyone here is here to try and to help others, but it is up to you to attempt to help yourself so that we may help you.......................
Todays post further down the page......http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...ding-unit.html

Just had mine replaced by Westcoast Corvetts. I had a check engine light, unrealated to the oil pressure and then saw my oil was pegged at 80/130. I checked here and saw one person who managed to replace the sensor w/o removal of intake. My hands are too big and did not want to create other issues. If you have someone do it for you or if you do it yourself get the relocation kit and save to time and money for next time.

Just did mine last week. Had also the check engine light. Had code P1416. Check valve right. That is just an inch behind the oil pressure sensor.
iff you are going to chance oil pressure sensor, replace THE check valve allso.
To reset THE oil remaining, turn the ignitionkey on, but dont start. Step on the trotlle 4 times and the oil live is back on 100%

Failed oil pressure sensors have been a VERY common C5 Corvette problem. If you end up replacing the sensor, the ones made of brass seem to be the best choice for longer service life.

Question. Is the sensor and sender the same part just different name for it? If you search LS1 oil sender on ebay they are like $18. If you search LS1 oil sensor they are $40-50+ but they look the same.... Thanks guys

There's one for oil temp and one for oil pressure. I'd check the part number. The higher priced one sounds like the right price.
