When you're building custom thangs customer service is critical! Especially after delivery if there are any issues.

I would go with the biggest cubes possible.....torque moves mass.

Not with a `150 shot on top.... Well maybe but just maybe..with the increased stroke the piston gets compromised

But your option starting point is a stroker 400+ci......

So then at what point does the stroke become an issue with nitrous?

383, 400, 418, 427, 429, 440?

Bore only gets you so far.....

Default Ls3

With the LS3 Block being Aluminum, 418 is as large as you want to go is using more than a 150 shot..........I'm going 418!

We prefer to keep more thickness to the cylinder wall, stronger but it also leaves room for a cleanup. There is no advantage to the 2 extra cubes but there are disadvantages to it. We build for longevity and there is none better at it than HKE.

Chris, I appreciated you help and knowledge, but this was the question I asked in the title of this thread........to now say this helps me none! I already made my desision based on leadtime, and price! I have gotten great customer service from both you and TSP, so I went to leadtime, price was about the same but TSP gave me a little better cash discount! HKE has a great reputation and product!

Thats to bad but I can't give labor away There is more to an engine build than the cost of it like the experience of the builder. You chose money over experience but I do wish you the best of luck with it. Happy motoring !

Personally I would rather have a highly experienced person build my engine.

Nothing against TSP, but seen too many low cost builds go boom over the past 5-8 years just to save a buck here or there.

Default You have an HKE Engine Also!

I know that some here will be biased as the are using certain products over another.......If I had the money I would just go straight to GM and get an LS9......but I don't.......I have had my vette since 2000, have 180,000 miles, have not driven my car most of last summer, none this year, and I did start my thread out by asking what I thought was the right questions! No body but me made the final desision, so I can live with it! Sorry if I wasted anyone's time, but being that I also run my own business, people have the right, and the ability to purchase from whoever they wish to........I am sorry if anyone was offended, but everyone has to educated themselves, and make a decision. Hopefully I won't have to do this again anytime soon! One other thing, TSP had the highest reguard for HKE and their reputation, never said one bad thing about anyone else, was nice to deal with and did talk about their problems in the past! Told me what they did to rectifiy them, and was able to meet my leadtime! I didn't ask anyone for anything free, just the best product and leadtime for what I was looking for!

Heh... lead time. I bought a shortblock from TSP. Four weeks after it was supposed to be delivered (I paid in full up front 8 weeks earlier) the wrong engine showed up. Took almost 3 months to get what I paid for.

I haven't had a single issue in 4 years / almost 30K miles though.
