Default Zo6 Side Scoops-Installation

I have just purchased a 2002 Electron Blue Convertible and would like to install the Z06 Side Scoops and Screens. Does anyone know of a installation instruction guide that is available?
Thanks in advance for your response.

Guys:

It's real easy to make your oun template with a thin piece of flexable cardboard. Just form it to the inside of the plastic scoop, trace the outer edge, cut along the traced line. then cut a hole in the cardboard to match the inner opening, and mark the bolt holes. Now place the template on the rocker pannel where you will palce the scoops and mark the inner opening hole along with the position of the bolt holes on the paint. Flip over the trmplate for use on the other side.

Cut the holes once you are SURE you have all markings in the correct place. Remove the inner linner of the rear wheels and install the bugger. Good luck with your project. :D

I think the brake scoops from ACI are soooo much better than the Z06 style ones. If I had a Z06, I'd waste no time in getting the stock scoops replaced by ACI. GM should have contracted them to make the scoops for the Z06. I think the Z06 ones look very out of place and give it a cheap fell, like they just slapped it together.

If the only reason you're installing Z06 style scoops is because they make your car look more like a Z06, there's a word for that: rice.

Do a search in the archived section - and you will find a guy from Cleburn, TX that made a template..

That is AMAZING Rand, you can read his mind and intensions

Have you ever heard about cooling air to the rear brakes? No, I guess not, otherwise you wouldn't be making conclsuive statements like the one above. Believe it or not, some people add the Z06 scoops for practical purposes and not to just impress others. And if you think that the ACI scoops look better than the Z06 Scoops, Great. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I never claimed to be reading his mind, nor was my statement conclusive. That's why I said if the only reason was to make the car look more like a Z06 then it was rice. Adding components to make your car look like a higher trim level is rice, whether it is on an Integra or a 'Vette.

If it is brake cooling you want, I think the ACI vents make a much more attractive option. ACI's website is http://www.acivette.com. Here's the specific page with the vents: http://www.acivette.com/aci0026m.htm. The ACI vents are cut into the panel, as opposed to having plastic that sticks out of it to collect the air. As I already said, I believe that the Z06 brake vents are very cheap looking. I really think that they detract from the car by making it look as though they didn't put much thought into it.

Now, the ACI panels aren't cheap. I believe it was about $600. And, as you have said, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Mine is that the ACI vents are much nicer than the Z06 style vents. If you believe that the Z06 style vents look better, or are simply more practical, than that's great. However, if you put Z06 style vents on your 'Vette to make it look like a Z06 to impress others, then that is rice.
