The MOST economical is probably the OBX headers but don't know a lot about them. They're offered on ebay for about $600 and up. From what I've read, many users happy with them. They're copies (knockoffs) of the LG longtube headers. But as with anything from ebay YMMV. Hope this helps ya up in T-Town... I'm just down the turnpike from ya.

I have not had the opportunity to work with a bigger cube engine so,, I really cant comment.I picked up a 2011 GS Vert. I don't plan on going wild on mods for that and I would install 1 3/4 primaries on that. Mainly for efficiency.
Call Chris or Doug at East Cost Supercharging. They have TONS of stroker and bigger engine experience. Also contact SPINMONSTER. I believe he did some testing on bigger headers.

...and of course the TSP 1 3/4" LT's with 3" x-pipe to bullets over the axle (no cats).
I feel when I'm N/A the 1 3/4" headers are great at low and mid range but limit my 7K RPM pulls. And if I was going to a true 1 7/8" primary the low and mid would suffer because of the cubes and lack of air, until the upper RPM's. And when I spray it at the track a true 1 7/8" headers would shine....
So I'm in the market for a step header, 1 3/4" to 1 7/8". I think that would be the best compromise I could come up with. But the more I think about it, the more I would love to have a stepped tri-y design. I think that would be awesome for my setup. So in a perfect world (my head...lol), a 1 3/4" stepped to 1 7/8" @ about the 8" mark then "pairing" up the corresponding cylinders for the pulse/reflection efficient design (1,3-5,7)(2,4-6,8). Then to a pinched merge collector with a divergent (mega) design with a well thought out merge spike to extend the pulses and not allow any "dead" spots between the pipe terminations.
The more I kick it around in my head....the more I my try something different....

I thinking about picking up some quality merges from MEGS. http://www.coneeng.com/assembling_sl...collector.html
And reworking the collectors on my TSP 1 3/4" headers. The collectors are what need work on these headers....could probably pick up some good power without going to 1 7/8" primary headers.
Your thoughts ??
