Truck 243 heads?
There might be a very obvious answer to this question but I thought I'd ask anyway, especially after searching the forums.
When swapping to 243 heads can we use the ones from the truck engines like the 5.3's found in the Silverado, Tahoe etc? Wasn't sure if we could only use the GTO or Zo6 243 heads.
After this its on to the difficult part, choosing the right cam to go with them and other supporting mods.

Local junkyards have a bunch of these heads sitting on shelves for a pretty reasonable price. Just need to get them checked out by a shop.
I plan on changing out springs and such with the cam swap.

That's what I'm planning as well. I just picked up an LS6 intake for cheap so now I'm thinking I should find some heads to install at the same time. What do the recyclers sell the heads for?

Probably not a bad idea since you'll be in there already...pretty much.
I've been pricing around here and I'm seeing them for about $150 a head so $300 a set which seems extremely reasonable to me.
