Default Largest Tire On a Stock Rim

I am looking to get rid of my OEM RunFlats and am thinking of upgrading to the Nitto NT-555R Drag Radials. What is the largest (widest) size tire that can be safely put on a stock C5 rim?

Does anyone have any reccomendations for tires other than the Nittos??

Thanks - Chad

a search will turn up a good amount on this subject but from what I remember when I asked the question:

fronts: I believe 255/40/17

rear: I believe 285/35/18, although I know people have stuffed 295s on the rear stock rims

I run 255/35-17 front and 285/35-18 rear without any T/C or uneven wear problems.
