About wide body. How much wider?
Hello again!
Another one message from the opposite side of the globe .
Spring coming soon here in Russia. A bit more than two month.
I cannot find wide body cheap. New in USA is about $1000 for rear qurters+about the same price shipping and customs clearence+respray=$$$$$$$$
For this reason I am going to make it myself.
Material of production would be epoxy and glass=fiberglass
I already ordered standard wheel kit from C6 Z06 (front 9.5 rear - 12) but they temporarily stuck in damned Russian customs. And I cannot measure them.
Question. How mutch wider I need my fenders?
Thank you.

Go to this site http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp and plug in the wheel and tire combination your are running now on the left side and the new wheel and tire combination you will be running on the right side. You will have to do this for the front and rear separately. At the bottom of the right side it will tell you how much further you will stick out and how much closer you will be to suspension and brakes.
if you are running stock size wheels and tires now and are installing stock C6 Z06 wheels and tires: the fronts will not be any closer to the suspension and brakes but will stick out 1.3" further than C5 stock size. In the rear you will be .7" closer to the suspension and brakes which may require a spacer to clear, and you will stick out 1.2" without the spacer and 1.9" including the spacer.
This is based on the fronts being 275x35x18 (9.5 wide) 40mm offset and rears being 325x30x19 (12 wide) 59mm offset as compared to C5 stock sizes front 245x45x17 (8.5 wide) 58mm offset and rears at 275x40x18 (9.5 wide) 65mm offset.

Wasn't there a "widebody" conversion made by a custom shop in Germany? If so, would the import taxes be less?
