Install Question: MSD 2351 Programmable Fuel Booster
1. They don't show a fuse on the +V 12 AWG red power IN wire. I suggested a 20A fuse close to the power source to protect in the event of a short. When I got home, I read the programming instructions and there is an LED fault code that is set at 25A. Does that fuse need to be larger? I was assuming max power 375 watts, max voltage 22v is 16 A but calculated at a lower voltage setting the current is higher.
2. I would guess that in the event the unit fails the fuel pump is rendered inoperative. I was considering adding a provision in the wiring that would allow you to easily reconnect the original fuel pump wire so you could limp home. Perhaps an inline fuse holder with fuse removed. Good idea or not?
3. Where/How do people using this or similar BAPs make the power connections in the engine compartment? Looking for a clean, easy installation.
