Default removing trans without torque tube

How difficult it it to pull a 6 speed without removing the torque tube? I've only every pulled them out as an assembly and I don't want the hassle of getting the splines to side in the clutch again. How does the shifter linkage disassemble? Anyone know of any write ups of this?

It is straight forward. You still have to remove linkage at the shifter inside the car. The linkage runs along the outside of the TT.

if you have pulled the whole assembly before you do basically the same steps just remove the trans to torque tube bolts instead of the torque tube to bellhousing bolts and to remove the linkage there is one torx bolt at the shifter box

I did it. Just make sure the car is high enough to tilt the trans and also make sure you don't tilt the TT too much otherwise rear of engine components will hit the firewall. I left the TT cover on...this kept it from tilt ing to far

the last time I pulled it apart I pulled the cradle, then the diff, then the trans, then the torque tube. was stupid easy.

sounds simple enough, thought there was a little more to it than just the one torx bolt on the linkage. Thanks

This is the best way to do, i did pulled twice as whole unit and was little unsafe too, but third time i did cradle, Diff, trans, TT and clutch.....i liked this way much easier and safer.

I prefer to remove the rear cradle with diff and trans attached and leave the torque tube in to be removed separately. actually much easier than removing it with the torque tube attached. install the same way.
