Another driver informed me I had only one brake light, the middle one. The four taillights are not registering brake lights when the brake pedal is applied. Both the left and right turn signal operate fine. What can be the cause of this?

I've seen the brake switch on the trucks have this problem before. There are separate leads for the taillight brake lamps vs the CHMSL (center high mount stop lamp).
Not sure if that applies to vettes, but something to look for anyway.

Try switching the hazards on and off a number of times.
