Coolant Leak: Overflow tank crack?
I've been chasing a coolant leak for a while now - I just changed the oil and spent some serious time looking for the source.
Is this a crack in the overflow tank???

If that is the hose at top going back towards the passenger compartment, the plastic has probably cracked. Mine totally broke off. Inside there is a metal tube. I was able to JB Weld the outer plastic tube back to the tank. I had originally tried a plastic welder but it did not last. So far the JB Weld has held up.

Not uncommon for the hose attachment nipples to crack right at their attachment point to the body of the surge tank. Heat and time make the plastic brittle. Repairing the cracks seldom last very long. Replacement surge tanks are available on Amazon for about $60. That is how I would go......... JMHO
If it's questionable then just get a new tank and replace it.
