Decided to get some today and put them on a stock 16 inch Firebird rim. I was told I would have to shave down my rotors and etc. etc. to get them to work on my '00 MN6 Vette. Is this true? If anyone else is using Mickey Thompson's, would you please share your setup? I don't want to wait until the 17 inch ET's come out later this summer. If not, what are you guys running to get max traction at the track. Thanx in advance guys.

Re: Who is using MT ET streets? (Leerph)
I am currently running et streets and skinnines mounted on CCW drag rims. I previously had et streets mounted on f body rims installed in my car. You will have to do some grinding on the calipers and it isn't really a big deal at all. You will not hurt or weaken anything on your car by doing this and the et street will give you by far the best hookee at both the drags and street vs. any other drag radial by far! Go for it, if you are serious about hooking and getting your best 60 ft times.

Re: Who is using MT ET streets? (wallstAL)
I have the same set-up as Brother Nitro. My 60's went from 1.9x's and above to a best of 1.75 so it was more than worth it. In an A4 with 380 rwhp, I footbrake it to 1500 rpm's, and stomp the crap out of it on the third amber with NO, I repeat NO tire spin when tires are aired down to 16 lbs. or less on a good track. Enjoy!
Thanx for the replies. Couple more questions. Will I be able to use stock 5 star firebird 16 inch rims and they will work out the same as the CCW rims? I can get the stockers from SLP for $50 each. If not, how much were the CCW rims and where can I purchase them at? Lastly, how exactly did you grind your calipers down? Was there anything technical, or was it take a grinder and "go to town" on 'em so to speak? How much did you have to take off? Thanx in advance for all the replies.

Re: Who is using MT ET streets? (Leerph)
As the firebird rims are not quite as wide as the ccws you can only safely run an et street of 26x10.5 x16 vs 26x11.5x16 on the ccw but the smaller tire will hook you fine. THe rims you describe from SLP will work fine. To get the ccw drag rims call john at custom wheel in FLorida. All four rims are approx 2K but you will have skinnines on front which means more stability and no squirelleness on the top end as the skinnines are also bias ply like the rear et streets. Going with et streets and stock radials is more dangerous as the car feels sqiuirelly going thru the traps at the higher speeds.
You may have to trim down the A-Arm a bit, but it is no big deal. I did it. I am running my ET Streets on a set of 16x8.5 C4 vette rims. I had to trim the fins on the inside of the wheel to clear the calipers.
I have bad news on the 17" MT's. I called MT's west coast office to find out when the 17's would be available. The girl in the office asked about them and they told her that they haven't decided yet if they are going to make them!  Now what. Mike V

All.

That is the problem on counting on a mod that isn't it out yet or based on specutlation, rumor, hearsay. NOW WHAT...........Look above here and that is the answer to what you need to do if you want to hook up real power to the ground (the only way really being with et streets on 16 inch rims)!
E.T. Drags here. Good friend and forum member Bill C sold me His 26X10X16 M.T. Slicks(now discontinued) on Camaro 16" wheels. They are a joy to bolt up...no clearance problems(I don't think He had any trouble on His C5 either which ran 11.X@135 with them  ). I think He just ground the upper control arms on His '00 FRC LPE TT. :)

That same office told me they would be released in the fall, many Corvette guys had requested them. I spoke with one of the technical representatives.
I am running 26x11.5x16 ET Streets on firebird five star twists. There was some grinding on the upper A-arms and nut, but not really a big deal. The slicks are great, I just need to do better burnouts with them.
