I know alot of you guys are using exhaust cutouts and my questions are: What does it sound like? Will it be louder than my Corsa indy w/ TPIS long tubes, X-pipe and removed cats? Where are you mounting them? What brand, size, and material are you using? Not that it matters to me but is there any resonance? Is it a deep sound or loud and raspy? Would it bring out the sound of my extremely lumpy cammed 382 stroker at idle. Last one: Do you have any idle problems when using them? Thanks in advance.

LoL, uhh yeah....You could say it will be louder then your corsa's. I'm using two flowtech cutouts right behind the X pipe. It's REALLY loud, and al you will have is resonence. But it's a great sound. Running no cats, and cutouts with a huge cam will get ALOT of attention on the street, too much. I'm getting my heads/cam installed early next week and will be runningTPIS headers with no cats and cutouts, but I will only be opening them at local shows and the track. I'm working on fitting these onto my cutouts http://www.mccordcg.com/mpp/order.htm so I can open and close them whenever I want without goingunder the car. I'll upload some pics and post them in a minute.
I was very interested in doing this, but am afraid with the S/C that having these would vary the boost and tuning to much...going to an open header would allow better breathing,,this might lower the amount of boost I am going to be running...right??????????????
Any idea how those electronice cutout openers work? I did a DIY cutout at home on my 01 a4 and i LOVED the sound when driving locally. but the minute i would go on the highway for any amount of time, the resonance made my teeth chatter, my head hurt, and my heart skip a few beats. to have that electronic cutout would be awesome. any idea how it would work on a stock exhaust with nothing modified and no cutouts? would love to have the on-demand-sound and performance of open pipes without being stuck with the noise when i dont want to. i am in no way a wrenchhead and would prob need someone to run the wires and do the install. any help would be appreciated. thanks and let the good time RUMBLE!

Those electric plates will only work if bolted onto a flowtech or similar type of cutout (the ones in my pictures). You could check out http://www.phpinc.biz they are the shop that installed my cutouts and they are located in Orland Park. Total price including cutouts and install was under $200.
Does that $200 include the cutouts, the electric plate, and installation? What was the install time at the shop? I'm ready to do this right away! :D In your opinion, how does the electric plate work and is it dependable? Sounds like a real cool thing, especially when ricers pull up, hit the switch, and roar, v8. Thanks for all the help
