Default My 402 stroker surprise surprise!!!

Heres what i find in my 1000 mile , $8000.00 price tag and 5 months of waiting to be built.. 1000 mile on motor car starts to tap, also when I raised rpms to about 1500 I can feel vibration throughout the car.So I shut her down, tow it home, drain oil, and i have copper or brass particles in the oil filter,
Engine builder seems to want to help in standing by the build.
ive only had the car back for 4 months..talk about sick feeling!

Thanks Bill . And I will. Engine builder and I have been doing buisness for over 9 yrs. he built my 1st vette a 2000. Then put a new trans and stall in the 2000. Then he built this one .
So we certainly have a relationship built.Hell he put 52 dyno pulls on the 2000.

Did you supply them the first time? If he did and something is defective, his suppliers should cover it. If he screwed up, he should cover everything.

UPDATE!!!
Engine builder and i spoke today, builder said he"ll come pick the car up, ill pay for gas, he"ll pull pan and check bottom of motor free of charge, If it his mistake, He will cover it al.l and if its other issues ill pay and he"ll help me anyway he can, within Reason. He suppled everything except a high volume oil pump that i suppled after he handed the car back to me and i wasnt pleased with the oil pressure. What concerns the builder is from the picture it looks like Brass instead of Copper, He says he doesnt know where the Brass is from, unless its a valve guide. He did say that as hard as my clutch is ,that that might have been pushing on something to wear a thrust bearing
From what i think the problem is ,, ( im a painter not mechanic.
I think its the thrust bearing..
So right now this is where im at with my 580HP 1000 mile motor.

oh man im sorry to hear this. I really hope you and your builder come to an agreement. Seeing things like this make me sick. I have a 418ci LS3 waiting to be installed and stories like these turn my stomach.
