Default Vengeance Racing Back to Basics - FAST Intake Comparison vs. OEM

Although we thoroughly enjoy posting about our customer's 700-1,500rwhp builds, it is time that we step back for a moment and revisit the popular topic of "Should I buy a FAST intake manifold?".

We had two customers come by in the last week for FAST manifold installs on their vehicles. The first to be highlighted is our customer's 2001 Camaro. It is a stock engine bolt-on only car that laid down 331/345 on our chassis dyno prior to any further modifications. The customer brought in a FAST 92mm LSX intake manifold and 92mm cable throttle body that he had purchased off of another individual and brought them both to us to install. Afterward, we performed a full street and dyno tune on the vehicle via EFI Live.

The end result was 358rwhp / 367rwtq, a gain of 27rwhp/22rwtq over the OEM manifold/TB!

The very next day, our good friend and customer Kris brought by his LS2 automatic C6 for a manifold swap. Kris opted for the FAST 102mm LSXR intake manifold with an OEM throttle body for now. At the time of baseline, Kris had already had us install a Vengeance Racing custom camshaft kit, Halltech Venom II intake, ARH 1 3/4" longtube header system, and a Powerbond 25% underdrive pulley. This combination netted a total of 403rwhp/400rwtq through the stock torque converter and automatic transmission.

We installed the 102mm intake manifold, reconnected his OEM throttle body and Halltech intake, made a few street tuning adjustments, and then it was back to the dyno! Within just a few hours, Kris gained a total of 23rwhp/23rwtq over baseline with a total of 426rwhp / 423rwtq after tuning was completed!

We also offer full porting services with any of our FAST intake manifolds and intake kits. Typical gains with our porting service are 7-10rwhp over an unported FAST intake. If you have any questions on FAST intake manifolds, our porting services, or any other services that we offer please feel free to contact me at any time!

Did the camaros get the LS6 intake in 2001? I forget when/what F-bodies came with that.

If that 20+whp gain is going from LS6 intake to FAST 92, then I'm sold. Going to have to do that sooner than later!

Yes sir! It was a OEM LS6 intake and stock throttle body, and the only changes made were an unported FAST 92mm and 92mm throttle body!

I was disappointed when I installed my ported Fast 92/90 on my heads/cam setup, saw all the posts claiming 20 - 30 hp etc, all I got was 11 hp more from about 3500 rpm up.... Actually lost about 4 - 5 hp below that.....
