Took the '02 out this morning to run an errand and after about 10 minutes of driving, I noticed that the lower left side of the cover on the steering wheel air bag was hot to the touch.

The car came right out of the garage and there was no constant sunlight in the interior (have the solid top on). The heat seemed to be specifically located on the left side of the cover and concentrated in about a 2" area just below and to the left of the left side horn icon. The rest of the cover was cool to the touch. The hot spot went away after 5-6 minutes.

So what's inside the steering wheel in that area that could get hot for a short period of time? Never felt this before
