Default What is this relay for on my ignition

So I finally decided to install an aftermarket radio into my car and that's when I found something that I don't know what it is.

The yellow ignition wire is cut and then both ends go to to the relay (red and blue wire on the relay). From there the white wire is used and feeds to a fuse that goes into a red wire in a wire harness under the steering column.

From the red wire with the fuse it then goes yellow wire that runs into the box thing. There's also a black wire that serves as ground to power the box. The box flashes green and red alternating.

At first I thought it was a column lock bypass but from all the googling I've done I'm not sure if this is indeed the case or not.

So I'm hoping someone can help me get to the bottom of this.

That's some kind of aftermarket alarm with imobilizer or ignition kill switch.

I am not a fan of three devices and from the pictures it looks like a poor install. Carefully surgery will be needed to remove it.

It does look like you can splice the yellow wire at the ignition switch back together easily. The rest will require carefully tracing the wires.

If you are in Southern California let me know, I can help with the removal.

SilverC54me thanks for your reply.

I did some more digging and taking apart and it looks like I know what it is now. It looks to be some sort of GPS tracking device from googling the part numbers.

I traced each wire to see where they went to and then resoldered and heat shrinked each connection. Car is still running so I'm good to go.

That is definitely a GPS tracker, the SIM (yellow card), is used to transmit wireless data from the device to a backend server. The brown square looking piece is the gps receiver antenna. The relay, is more than likely connected to an output on the GPS device, that would allow the user to send a command to the device that triggers the relay. Probably used as a starter disable...
