Default Seafoam for fuel gage?

How many people have fixed a faulty fuel gage by simply pouring a container of Seafoam into the gas tank? I have an erratic reading in a 2001 and this sounds like an easy fix. Any negative impact on O2 sensors?

Seafoam is a good fuel injector cleaner (1/2 in the gas tank & 1/2 in the vacuum hose). For your fuel guage, try Chevron Techron concentrate in an empty tank. OR a couple of tanks of Chevron gas which contains Techron.
P.S. No negative impact on my 02 sensors.

The issues with the fuel gauge have been discussed many a time, here, and the general consensus is to use Techron.......although I've also used RedLine's synthetic fuel system cleaner, and either way, I haven't had any issues.....so far.

Techron would be my choice for trying to fix the fuel gauge problem.

You can try it, but I would use Techron as suggested. I'd use Seafoam as treatment for your fuel injectors or fuel stabilizer. It won't hurt to try but I wouldn't count on it fixing the issue.

I tried them all for 6 months, slight improvement but finally replaced the right sender, all is good.

Could have saved the $100 I spent on techron but was worth a try, if you are getting a sender code, the right one is fairly easy to swap, I did it in my garage.

When I bought my frc the first tank got a bottle of Lucas the third got a bottle of seafoam and the fifth got a bottle of techron. When I bought the car the gauge was acting a little funny now it is dead on. I daily drive my frc so it dosent take long for me to burn a couple tanks of fuel.

I noticed that Techron a few times and then switching to 93 at a Shell gas station fixed the flop in my gas gauge.

Thank-you all. So the consensus is that Seafoam won't fix a fuel gage, but Techron or replacing the sender will.

Over a period of time I began having a similar problem with the fuel sending unit in my 26' Eliminator Eagle boat. After reading about similar issues and cures in our cars on this forum I decided to give techron a try in my boat. I've run a couple of large bottles of the complete fuel system cleaner through the tank, plus I have been fueling with Chevron gas exclusively and my gauge is now functioning 98% of the time, it will go empty for a second or two once in a while, but I feel with a little more time, and some more Chevron gas it will be back to 100%.
