Power Steering R&P and C6 Z06 Shock Upgrade
My 1997 C5 power steering is leaking like crazy and the repair shop said it needs a new R&P unit. It doesn't surprise me on a 20 year old car.
Who is a good supplier of these? Rock Auto wants me to pull mine and send it in to be rebuilt but that means I am without a car for a while. I would prefer to purchase and then ship mine in to avoid a core charge.
Also, I have read in these forums that installing the C6 Z06 shocks is a popular replacement for C5s. Is this a straight swap? I see FE1, FE3 and FE4 for the three different AC Delco shocks for a 2006 Z06. The FE1s are obviously 'soft' and therefore not the correct shocks. Are the FE4s (special suspension) the correct replacement or the FE3s (sport suspension)?
Thank you for your insight.

Sorry for being imprecise. Yes, I meant rack and pinion.
I had my employer's preferred shop replace my radiator and they also dug through the entire car looking for things that needed repair. The radiator had to be replaced right away. The steering and shocks could wait until my buddy has time to help. Now that he is retired he has plenty of time.

8Vette7, thank you for the insight.
I did find a Corvette Forum vendor who sells them with a core charge until I return mine. That is far preferable to sending in mine for repair.
