Smoke from GZ vacuum pump
Guys, I just bought a z06 in February. Car has been driven 4 times, has not been driven hard. Previous owner had the motor freshened up, reringed, rehoned, new bearings, gaskets, arp studs in December. Motor is 414 stroker. I went to start the car up Saturday, some smoke came out of the tail pipes. Haven't seen smoke come out of the tail pipes since then, but alittle smoke comes out of the gz vacuum pump catch can/filter. Oil is clean not black or milky color for cooolant leaks from checking the dipstick. Very little oil is being caught in the catch can, a shot glass full. Is that something to be worried about? The car does not have a pvc valve and all the locations on the intake are capped off and has been tuned for it. I have read that some people say that is normal without having a pcv valve hooked up.

I have the GZ pump on my supercharged 421 ci small block chevy..
It's normal to have "smoke" vapor coming from the breather on top of the
resevoir.. It's actually there separating the liquid from from the vapor.

Ok cool thanks, as far as the "smoke" out the tail pipes, buddy told me since we live in a humid state, and if the car sits for a bit you will see alittle condensation blowing out the tail pipes, and yes there was alittle condensation.

As long as your tailpipe "smoke" is not blue or really black.
Which would indicate oil blow by the rings/ blue.. Or overly rich condition/ black.
Steam vapor is very normal, as that what the cat converters do

Definitely no blue or black. I had a friend of mine come over yesterday and I started the car (cold start)while he was watching the tailpipes and he said you could see very little water come out on the driveway but no white smoke.
