Default Any experience with this titanium exhaust for C5?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Co...FYyeBM&vxp=mtr

In my quest to find a lighter/better axle back for my TT C5Z (the stock Z06 Ti was a bottleneck, and I've been running a Corsa Touring setup for awhile now... more power, but heavier)... I saw this system on E-bay.

I've never heard of this company or the product. They aren't too far from me, so I may take an afternoon and go take a look in person. I'd prefer polished tips, not blue, but my car is EB, so it might look ok. 21lbs for the system is great!

If anyone has any first-hand experience, I'd be interested in hearing it.

Only took a quick look... are those flex pipes? Titanium flex tubing, interesting. Not a fan.
Also, do they have any dyno tests? You might lose weight but also some power?

I've never seen that system before, but with a similar design to the Corsa Touring System I don't see where it will give you any performance gains. Yes it will be lighter but with a TT does it really matter? As mentioned in the previous post, some performance numbers would be nice. I'm wondering if those ribbed sections at the bends will affect the flow. Imported, with no track record, so you really need to look at the quality up close before spending that kind of money.
Have you considered the Corsa Extreme system? Free Flowing but the SS is heavier than the Ti.

Dont think its FLEX TUBING but how they bent the pipe I you look closely it looks smooth and may be just bend marks.

Ide be very interested in FLOW NUMBES compared to C5 TI and a picture of how the muffler cans are constructed inside.

Those are gore cut (pie shaped) pieces that are welded together. Ti is difficult to bend so this is how curves are typically made in it.

Heres another example...

WOW!!! The man hours that that took must be OFFF the charts!!

GM or the manufacture that made the Ti Mufflers didnt seem to have any issues bending their fully Ti muffler pipes.

Guess this company didnt have the same resources as the GM contractor did.

You got that right. Not only is it hard to bend, but it's not easy to weld either. It needs purged with gas on the inside prior to welding or welded inside of a purge tank which keeps it surrounded in gas. It takes a talented individual to work it with good results like those.

I removed the stock C5Z Ti because it didn't flow well enough over 620rwhp. I just don't really like the way the Corsas look anymore (bought these next to new from a local performance shop... they are the oval touring tips), and if I can get a lighter setup (the one nice advantage to the C5Z Ti) that flows the same... then I'm game.

Not sure I like the blue tips, either, so maybe it doesn't matter.

I also don't want straight pipes (would save weight), as that is louder than I'd like. This car is a sleeper...very quiet, even at WOT.

So, just looking at options and saw this on ebay.

I completely agree with all that I'd need verifiable flow numbers in comparison to other hi-po systems before spending any $$.

Thanks for the input!

How about the stock C5 Z Ti with the A&A Bypass Mod?

Other option: keep what you have and change the tips.

I think at one time Akrapovic made a Ti system for the C5 but I don't see it listed anymore. They were late to the game releasing them and I don't think many people wanted to spend that much money on an exhaust. system for their old C5. I don't think I've ever seen a used set for sale.

Corsa made a Ti system many years ago, but even used ones rarely come up for sale. Not exactly what I call stealthy at WOT but not obnoxious when cruising.

Yes, I have scoured the 'net for a Corsa Ti... like you said, very hard to find at all, and even moreso in mint condition.

Without documentation on how they flow, I sure wouldn't spend that kind of money on a catback system. Not wild about the blue tips either.

Man, i cant wait to see someone here run this exhaust. Looking at their website, seems they deal with a lot of high end cars. Nothing looks better than a Burnt titanium exhaust, wish i have the monies.
