Default Headlights pop up for no reason

Hi Forum. I have had no real problem with my pop up headlights since buying the car about 1.5 months ago. I know the passenger side gear needs to be replaced but waiting for Florida 90 degree/95% humidity to go away. Last night we got about 3.5 in rain in about an hour. I saw that the headlights had popped up and were on. I went out played with the switch and got them down. However they kept popping up, sometimes with no headlights on, sometimes 1 headlight on, sometimes 2 headlights on, and once the headlight with the good gear popping up by itself. I know a bad gear can cause the to pop up occasionally but that shouldn't have anything to do with the headlights on off or either one on or off or independently. I am waiting for the car to "dry out" to see if it goes away but thought I'd ask you as well. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You have a GHOST in the system.

One thing that can command stuff to function on its OWN is the BCM.

If the car was out in the rain, you could possibly have a wetted BCM. The BCM does NOT do well if its wet/damp!!!

Look inside the passengers foot well and see if its wet or the carpet underlayment in the foot well is damp.

Next is a faulty multifunction switch. It could be going bad.

Thanks for the info. The battery actually died when they popped up again while I was out. I recharged the battery and it hasn't happened since. Unsure if the BCM reset when the battery was dead or whatever got wet dried out but not happening now...

Do you have TWLIGHT SENTINEL and if so, is it turned to OFF!
