Default Upgrading tire size to 18/19..

I dropped my 2001 C5 the 1" which is available within the factory settings and I want to upgrade by wheels from the 17" and 19" that came from the factory to 18" and 19" but I don't know if that will cause a problem due to the larger rim size? Can someone help? My tire guy is not sure..

If you maintain the overall tire diameter, offset, width, sure.
Going up one wheel size is almost exactly a drop in aspect ratio (3 steps in width does same). Example;
Stock Z front is 265 40 17 = tire OD of 25.3"
Switching to 18; 265 35 18 = tire OD of hey, 25.3"
Your base model front; 245 45 17 = 25.7" (235 wide which is 3 steps narrower = 25.3")

C6 rims and tires on mine no issues. Just had to run a 1/4 spacer in rear on extended lug nuts.

An upgrade to 18/19 will really improve the looks of the car. I am running 18 x 9.5" wheels up front with a 275/35/18 tire. 19 x 10.5" wheels in the back with 305/30/19 tires.
