Anyone have a 2 piece timing cover?
I need to do my oil pump since it only has about 10 psi at idle so I think it’s dying. I replaced the oil pressure sensor already. I want to do a cam later on for for now I tought of doing a 2 piece timing cover to make it easy down the line and not have to remove the steering rack again. I found some on eBay for $50 and seeing what everyone’s experience is with 2 piece timing cover. I will post a pic of the eBay one

I took my OEM one to a machine shop and had it cut in half. Use some RTV between the two pieces when reinstalling.
Works great.

Yes, that one shown above from ebay will work, but you have to use an LS2 water pump with it. It sticks out a tad more than the stock timing cover so the stock water pump will not mount in front of it. The LS2 water pump sticks out a tad more than the stock water pump does and mounts up just fine.

I got the one from Classic Industries. Like others said. You need the LS2 pump. It has a pressed on rear cover and allows for the clearance to from the cover. I used extra sealant between the plates. So far all is good.
