Default LS3 D510c coils on 97 LS1?

Hey guys.

Did some research, haven't found much info whether or not AC Delco D510c coils will work correctly on an untuned LS1? Reason I ask is I want to change the LS1 D580 coils for these for troubleshooting purposes (The LS3 coils are off an LS3 I'm in the works of building, so in the mean time). If anyone knows if they will plug and play without issues, that would be great. Thanks.

I believe you will need the ls3 coil harness as well, it will be the same on the engine harness side but the coil plugs are different than the ls1... it will work if you just need to test them for something but the dwell time may possibly need to be adjusted for them to work optimally... I'm using the d585 truck coils on my car and my tuner changed the dwell times, he might have just copied the truck tables but I'm not totally sure... you could try finding out if anyone knows what the dwell tables are for an ls1 c5 vs ls3 c6 are and compare them, they might end up being the same so then no changes would be needed
