Dorman ls2 intake - parts needed 2004 Z06

GM 12605716 is the truck front crossover. That's what I'm running, and it interferes with the Dorman LS2 intake. I haven't had any time to work on it; not sure if I can bend the tube enough to clear or not. Kinda doubt it.

You can compare the two when it comes in. I'm not sure if there's much difference in how the line is bent though. The truck crossover has the outlet nipple pointed up, which is nice. The stock ls1 front crossover has the nipple pointed forward... so if used in the rear, it would be pointing towards the firewall. The picture you posted shows it will technically clear the firewall, but that's some very tight clearance back there.
Or maybe see if you can bend the truck crossover to clear the intake. If yes, post up as that's the setup I'm working with.

Reading stuff that the Dorman LS2 intake isn't as good as the LS6 intake?
Wonder if I should return the intake and just get an adapter for the LS2 throttle body....

ICT Billet , bought one from them , great piece , all hardware & o-rings , free shipping ,I've bought a lot of other stuff from them since , always satisfied. I haven't put my Car on the Dyno with the Dorman yet ,one guy said it outperformed the LS6 but I don't remember seeing any numbers. I'm very happy with the way my Car runs with the Dorman , LS1 throttle body & injectors , Texas Speed 224R cam , CAI , longtubes , catless 3" X pipe to ZO6 titanium exhaust , has a menacing 850rpm idle , runs like stock 'till 2500 & then comes on strong & pulls very hard 'till redline . I couldn't be happier with the results of so little investment . Hope to dyno the Car next week & put up numbers.

Just a follow up regarding the GM truck crossover. With a bit of work you can get it to clear the intake. I put the open end of a wrench on it and lightly hammered it towards the firewall. Be gentle, but you can get the line to bend enough to clear the rear of the intake.
You'll also have to bend the front crossover downward to clear the larger TB opening.

I won't stir the debate here, but many feel that the lack of rear steam vents may contribute to the #7 cylinder failure. I can't say if it does or doesn't, but since I suffered the #7 cylinder failure, I decided to open up the rear ports just to be on the safe side. Thus I'm using the GM truck crossover in the rear.

I also did NOT have success with the low profile pan head valley cover bolts that come with the Dorman kit. They are a 5mm hex drive, and began to strip the head before you get to the required 18ft/lbs. So I went to Lowes and got some regular M8x1.25x30 bolts. (the head is still shorter than the factory valley cover bolt heads).
I was going to add one of those heat shields under the intake, but after some careful measuring I just don't think there's enough clearance between the top of the valley cover bolts and the floor of the intake manifold. I used a piece of clay to check the clearance and it's less than 0.100", and that's before the manifold is torqued down. the heat shield is thicker than that.

The heads of the bolts are easily stripped, I used new button head bolts from Fastenal with my FAST 92 and I think they will be 1 use.
I have thought about making my own heat shielding and just cutting out the area over the bolts.

The 04-05 LS6 valley cover also has raised "bumps" were the air/oil separator mounts to the underside. Basically the same height as the bolt heads. By the time you cut around all of those, I'm not sure how much benefit it really is. I like the idea of the heat shield though.
