My repair for broken outer door weatherstrip tabs
I had decided to replace the outer door seals while i have my car apart
and found 6 broken mounting tabs for the seals(probably why they were always moving around and the one screw at the end was missing).
did some searching and couldnt find what i needed ,so heres what i came up with.I made all the pieces with just a dremel tool ,so most should be able to do the repair at home.Maybe itll help someone else out.
-get a piece of 22g sheetmetal(got it at lowes)
-cut pieces to repair tabs
-tape up top of door for protection
-sand area around repair(i used some 80 grit wraped around a paint stick)
-mix up a little jb quick and apply a small amount on backside of the tabs you made
-put piece in place ,just kinda line it up where the old slot was, hold in place for 5min
-repair as many as needed and give 24hrs
-reinstall new weatherstrip.
