Default puddle of red fluid - what is it ?

So out of nowhere, I noticed there is a puddle of red liquid on the ground underneath my car - driver's side of the engine bay area.

Any idea what the fluid is, and what it could be leaking from ?

Thanks in advance.

Red is typically ATF. Is your car an automatic? I assume that auto cars probably have a transmission cooler built into the radiator. Not sure how those lines are run?

Also keep in mind fluid can run down frame rails, etc so where it is dripping from may not be exactly where it starts.

Power steering fluid probably. The PS pump, the connections to the rack and the lines are on the driver's side of the engine. Look for leaks from the cap, fittings and lines.

The 6-speeds also use ATF in corvettes. Dex 3 originally, which is an ATF.

Thinking driver side engine bay is PS as trans is in rear. Clean it up - if you can't find the source look where the wires go into the rack.

Quite likely, yes. Unless you use red brake fluid in your brakes/clutch.

Dexcool is orange, which is close enough to red that you might be seeing coolant.

Coolant has a different smell than ATF or brake fluid though (and no one is selling red brake fluid nowadays anyway).
