Default Knock Sensor - My own fault

So, I may have shot mysel.f in the foot. In December I pulled the intake manifold to replace and relocate the oil sender and put in new PCV hardlines. While I was at it I also did the two check valves and the knock sensors and their wiring harness. The old knock sensors were actually in great shape - no corrosion and no signs that water had ever gotten in so it was purely preventative since the car is 18 years old.

I test drove it a couple of times, but, since it was Winter, I had not driven it since. Last week, though, I had my DD BMW 328ix wagon in the garage on the lift doing some work and needed a part from the dealer. So, took the Corvette and . . . Check Engine Light. Code is P0332 - Knock Sensor Circuit Rear. I checked the wiring harness connection just to make sure it was clean and looked okay. It is and it does.

So, is this a bad sensor? An issue with the wiring harness/connector? Am I going to have to pull the manifold again and redo/replace? Inquiring minds want to know.

what are you thinking a faulty unit?

once i put new clutch in an old MG i restored along with a new MC and slave cylinder.....guess what all the parts were bad.....out of round clutch disk, leaking slave cylinder and MC that would not build pressure....all new parts it was the trifecta of screw me.

Update and New Question for the Wisdom of the Forum:

So, I have finally gotten time to pull the intake manifold again to deal with the CEL for the code P0332 - Knock Sensor Circuit Rear. Not knowing whether the issue is the wiring harness or the sensor, I have new OEM of both on hand. When I got in there, I found that the sensor in question was spinning freely and not torqued down to 15 ft/lbs. Front one is fine - I thought I had torqued them both down properly but I could have pulled a doofus and overlooked that one or maybe didn't torque it quite enough to keep it tight.

The wiring harness looks fine - no pinches, no wear, nothing obviously wrong with it.

So, I am assuming the sensor being loose was the problem. Am I right?

Also, if that was the problem, then that sensor and the wiring can be put back in and I can retrun or Ebay the spares I picked up. Just checking because I don't want to have to do this a third time . . .

Also wondering if I need to use new gaskets on the manifold. These were new when i did the job the first time in December so I would think they should still be usable. However, looking at them, a couple seem to have swollen/expanded and don't sit perfectly even in the grooves. When i pulled one out it is difficult to shoehorn back in. A set of new gaskets is cheap insurance. Thoughts?

I would tighten the sensor up and put it all back together, it was probably rattling around and giving a false knock signal... I would reuse the gaskets as well, they protrude out and are far from being flush with the intake so they should be fine

If the harness and the sensors are OEM, I am interested in all 3... If the "Price is Right"
