Default 93 Z06 PCM flash for my 04 base C5?

Since I can’t pull my PCM and send it out to have it flashed since it’s my daily driver, can I purchase a 03 Z06 PCM and have it flashed/tuned to support my exhaust I’m putting on?

Yup, should work just fine. Pretty sure you can use F-Body PCM's too.

Any documents backing that up before I shell out the money and send it to ECS?

there is a procedure to marry the pcm to the bcm so the car will start, nothing major and it's really simple... it's been awhile since I've done but it's just a series of turning the ignition in the proper sequence for a period of time so no tools or anything are needed... however I don't think the vin can be changed with tuning software so basically if you require an emission test in your state then the vin pulled from the obd2 port will obviously not match the vin on your car and that may pose a problem so I would ask about that first... I would also try to find a pcm from another 04 just to make sure you don't run into any issues, I know some of the years are different than others and you technically can make them work but it may require some swapping of pins and whatnot

I don't think they are compatible. If I remember correctly the 04's have a 1Meg PCM and 03 and earlier are 512KB. I would certainly do a little more research before buying anything.

this is very possible, that's why I would get one from the same year just to avoid any hassles
