Default 2004 Z16 passenger seat broke

I have only had this car a couple months and just now taking it out since the weather is nice. I came to a hard stop checking brakes yesterday and the passenger seat moved forward very hard. I pulled over and tried to set the adjustment bar to lock the seat in place but it does not work. Any ideas before I pull the seat out?

Could be a bunch of things, the main one being that the release bar is not catching.

Pulling the seat is only a few minutes. Pop the seat out and you will have your answer almost immediately.
