2000 Convertible Pewter with Black 62,000 miles
Just took my 2000 vette out of storage. I had disconnected the battery over the winter. Everything works fine except the key fobs. Nothing on them works. It won't lock or unlock the doors or open the trunk. I replaced the batteries in the FOBS and still does not work. Any idea on what to do? THANKS

Look at the battery 2 holders within the Key FOB. Yesterday, my FOB just quick working. So I replaced the battery and still not working. So I took a magnifying glass and looked at the soldering connections. Behold, the one battery holding clamp solder joint was separated from the circuit board. When I forced the connection back in place (a temp fix), the FOB worked. A repair is in order.

Stand in front of the car with the FOB and press and hold both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons down until the horn beeps. This syncs the FOB back to the car. A necessary step after disconnecting the battery on a 97 - 2000 C5 keyless entry system.
FOB should again work.
