Weight of T56, differential, torque tube? Transmission jacks.
I will have to do a clutch job sooner or later, looking at my harbour freight catalog that came in mail today with a 25% off coupon for any one item in store.
Three choices of transmission jacks, 450 lb, 800 lb, 2000 lb.
The 450 lb has slightly lower minimum height, and max height, would be doing this on garage floor.
450 lb enough?

I just saw the 450 lb is not the same type as the bigger jacks online, the catalog ad didn't show pic of the 450 lb.
So probably get the 800 lb with hydraulic lift, 160.00 minus 25%, 120.00, not bad at all.

well I can tell you from selling and shipping these parts that the differential is about 75 pounds....the trans is about 125 and the TT is about 50....

The last time I had my rear end/trans/torque tube down I used the 450lb and had no issues. I have also used it when removing trans from from Escalades/Silverado etc. unless you have one of those rare all steel 4 speed cases you are not even at 50% capacity.

This is how I'v done it removing the TT/trans in one unit
And this is how I did it yesterday just the trans/diff.
Skateboard old jack make for a rolling/adjustable jack stand.
Mark.

I've done it multiple times with the HF 450lb and it can be a little sketchy, but it works. The ratcheting safety strap might seem like an unnecessary hassle, but USE IT! The cheap HF jack can easily lean side-to-side as the height increases. Never had the jack tip over, but did have the drivetrain roll off the saddle once. Luckily nobody went to the hospital and no parts were damaged, but it's not something I would ever want to have happen again.

Bought the 800lb transmission jack, got 25% off so 119.99, or 129.65 after tax.
It fit in the trunk of my Convertible C5 with it still in it's box, just barely.
Not looking forward to pulling the the transmission, in fact I'm going to procrastinate, and try buying the Katech bleeder and attempt to put it in without pulling transmission.
