Default Pop up lights/parking lights

So I replaced my front right turn signal bulb and now the popup lights wont go down and the parking lights won't turn on. When I was replacing the old turn signal bulb was broken and it sparked pretty good when I was trying to pull it out. Wondering if I blew something. Any thoughts.

Why was your bulb socket hot when you were replacing the bulb? Surely you had your car off while changing bulbs....

Weird. Several years ago a long time member that had a high level of electrical knowledgeable now passed gave me his thoughts on doing anything involving anything electrical on the C5, DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE BEFORE STARTING. I follow his advice without hesitation.
