Growl from rear end area
After the car has set for a day or two, when I start out, I have a slight growling noise from the rear end area that lasts for a mile or two, then becomes unnoticeable. Almost sound as if the lubricant has yet to get to a bearing or something. Would this be normal for a 2004 Convertable with 10,000 miles? If it has been addressed prior, sorry, I couldn't find the thread. I did hear they have a noisy rear end, I just asking.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Go to a somewhat empty parking lot and drive some aggressive figure eights, this will lube the posi clutches and might help your situation.

Melting Slicks
If the growling is happening in a straight line is it NOT normal. I would start by checking the fluid level. If the growling is happening during turns, you likely need some friction modifier. The growling in the turns would be the clutches not slipping properly.

Went to the local dealer, they drained differential and refilled with fluid with friction modifier. Problem solved !!! Thanks for the advice, I'm breathing easier now. Thanks again...
