Does anyone know the GM paint number for mag wheel paint, or know where I can get some. I got a nick in my front wheel and a tiny one in the back and would like to touch them up ASAP.
I know that you can get this paint in the small touch-up jars from you local Chev. dealer. I got one a while back, but don't have immediated access to where I have the jar stored. I got it by a going to their parts room and just asked for it. They did have to order it because they did not have it locally.
if it is the gold color paint i think i still have mine....i just got chrome wheels
if it is the same gold color as the 2000's ill be glad to mail it to u if i can find it
let me know
Actually the color is bronze and the touch stick GM part no. is 12346496- $6.30 list. Bob at Fitchner Chevy is very familiar with ordering this part . . .
Bronze paint for Magnesium Sport Custom Wheels - Option code N73 - Paint code WA-EQ163D or GM paint code WAQ-163D or on touchup bottle from GM Goodwrench it is simply WA 163D.
I would not use the touchup paint, since you will probably not be happy with the way it turns out. Any good shop can dismount the wheel, tape and sand the small area affected, airbrush the color and clear, and have you back on the road in an hour. It should not cost more that $100, and it should be rather much less. This stuff is the price of admission for these wheels if you actually drive the thing.
