The head lamp control module is a WELL KNOWN cause of the famus excessive current draw. The module controls BOTH head light motors and shuts down when the circuit sees higher current draw when the doors go fully OPEN or FULLY SHUT.

Yours is not shutting down. All of the modules have sealed cases. On the back the sealing compound shrinks and allows moisture into the module. pull yours and check the circuit board inside to see if its damaged.

DO NOT THROW IT AWAY if you find out its bad!!

Bill, just wondering why not discard? Are replacements hard to find?

YES And they are EXPENSIVE!! Best option is to see if you can get a good used module from VETTENUTS.

I like to fix the unfixable GM Modules! LOL!

If you don't mind,, send it to me. (Ill pay shipping if needed. ) and I will see If I can see what's wrong with the module and attempt to repair it.
